Tell you what: I will be your Romeo
I will be your man: handsome. Brave and bold
Bound by the heart, hand in hand we will go
To the greatest love story ever told:
On the first day we’ll attract instantly
Forget about previous loves: We’re done
And on the second day we will marry
Just met but apparently you’re the one
You will smile and go along with it all
I could be a nutter but heart says no
With generations of hate we’ve got gall
Over. But give it time and it will blow
We’ll die but at least we’ll live forever
It’ll still be the greatest love ever

Addict
Same need. Same plan. Same thoughts of temptation
Same pause. Same doubt. Same fear of a presage
Same conflicting thoughts. Same hesitation
Same mobile number. Same text message
Same lies spoken. Same route and roads plotted
Same promise that this will be the last time
Same paranoia of getting spotted
Same street. Same driveway. Same house. Same door chime
Same amount of dollars. Same sense of touch
Same rush of sensation. Same ecstasy
Same assurance it was wanted so much
Same pain resonating in the belly
Leaving feeling empty, unhappy, weak
And knowing he’ll be back again next week

When you were mine
I remember those days spent together
Hand in hand watching a summer set
Laughing at jokes that weren’t really clever
Singing to my ipod as a duet
In a flash restaurant sharing dinner
Sitting on the water front with ice cream
Competing on Xbox to be winner
Gazing into each other’s eyes agleam
I remember those days spent together
When you said that: Yes you’ll be my girlfriend
When you said you’ll be my friend forever
Building a bond only we comprehend
But you say that none of this happened – ever
But to me it all should have – not never

The wife left behind
Locked away, from the world, in a sleep
Dreams of when the ring was on the finger
Along with the memories that linger
For they’ve taken root in the soul so deep
Thoughts of the one who’s waiting a return
But the hopes of one are looking slimmer
And the love that once stood strong grows dimmer
A soul without its mate: cause for concern
Thoughts of the tenderness that was once there
Understanding between one another
How nobody else could know each other
No sense to turn away from that so rare
The sleep continues, the dreams here to stay
And he will see her face again some day

Evil Noise
It came in the middle of the coldest night
Roaring up from the deepest depths of Hell
Striking down from up from the greatest height
Screaming a noise like a broken bell
Riding the same journey it took last week
It can’t be bought, bargained with or halted
Broken words, in dead languages it speak
Years of counter measures have all bolted
It’s stride: unbroken for years, relentless
It wants to be heard – to have the last say
No care for the many pleas you possess
And no demands, will make it go away
So hide in your room and bolt up the door
So the screaming can’t hurt you any more

Open Heart Surgery
The human heart went into hospital
It’s twenty ninth visit this year alone
A thousand feelings had taken its toll
And the damage left the human heart prone
It could think of each time it fell apart
The times when it spoke with all it’s feeling
Without reason; Those who had to depart
The times when rejection left it reeling
The times when it’s emotions made it sick
When it couldn’t find hearts to relate to
When it got hit with the force of a brick
When it couldn’t reach the triumph so true
Now the heart was trying to stay alive
But how can something so fragile survive?

The Procrastinating Student
I’ve just been handed a new assignment
But it can wait for now: I’ve things to do
Like Xbox baddies to shoot and torment
But I’ll get my school work done in time - true
It’s a week in but nothing’s been commenced
Well, apart from my journeys through Skyrim
I could start my school work – that would make sense
But I WILL get it done and I WILL win
Crunch time but the assignments still not done
I’ve got a week to produce something good
Empty tank preparing for the long run
But I know this is not the best I could
With the assignment done I can play games
But now, somehow, it doesn’t feel the same
