This is me at my most vulnerable.
Unvarnished. No strings attached. Pure and still.
I don’t show this readily. I’m no fool.
Just don’t shatter it: I know others will.
I know some will see this as a weakness
They may laugh, hurt, condemn, exploit, cat-call
They will tell me that silence is painless
But for you the walls around me will fall
Feel an honesty no one else will know
See what all the layers are concealing.
Touch all the emotions I wish to show
See the me I am, to you, revealing
Show me your real, honest, self this one time
Do it for me and I will show you mine
